Forward Together

Here Is The Most Frequently Asked Questions.

We know you may have questions about Forward Together, and we want to provide clear and helpful answers as we move through this season as a church family. These questions will give you more insight into the vision, process, and priorities of the campaign.

If I am committing to Forward Together, how does this change my giving to Faith Promise, the general fund, and other specific offerings?2026-04-27T19:56:59+00:00

Our hope is that your giving to the general fund, Faith Promise, and other ongoing ministries would continue faithfully and consistently. These regular gifts sustain the day-to-day ministry, missions, and outreach of our church and remain vitally important.

Forward Together is an opportunity to give sacrificially and prayerfully over and above your normal giving for a defined season. Rather than replacing your regular support, this commitment is meant to be an additional expression of generosity to help us accomplish this specific capital goal.

We encourage each person and family to seek the Lord’s wisdom about how he might lead you to participate—continuing your ongoing commitments while also stepping forward in faith during this special season in the life of our church.

How long is my commitment?2026-04-27T19:57:55+00:00

The Forward Together campaign is a two-year commitment, running from April 2026 through March 2028. Each household is invited to prayerfully consider a total commitment for that season.

How you choose to fulfill your commitment is flexible. Some may give monthly, others quarterly, annually, or through one or two larger gifts during the two-year period. Our goal is to make participation accessible and manageable for every family as we move forward together.

How do I know my Forward Together gifts are being stewarded well?2026-04-27T19:59:03+00:00

We take stewardship of every gift to Forward Together very seriously. All contributions are carefully tracked and applied specifically to the capital campaign projects, including payments to our architects and designers, as well as contractors completing the work.

Our finance department will provide regular updates to the Session on the campaign’s progress and financial accountability. This transparency ensures that every dollar is used faithfully and effectively to advance the mission and vision of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Your gifts are an investment in ministry that will impact our congregation and community for years to come, and we are committed to honoring that trust with integrity and careful oversight.

Will we be taking on long-term debt?2026-04-27T19:59:54+00:00

God has been so gracious to Westminster over the years that we are currently debt-free, and we are deeply grateful for that blessing. Historically, we have utilized debt responsibly to complete major building projects, and those decisions have enabled important ministry growth.

For this project, our hope is to fund it entirely through the generous contributions of our church family. Because of the timing of pledged gifts, we may need to secure a short-term construction loan to move the project forward. As the project progresses, the Session will carefully and prayerfully evaluate whether longer-term financing is necessary, just as we have done in the past, always seeking to steward the church’s resources wisely.

Can the renovation project be phased?2026-04-27T20:00:15+00:00

Yes. The Forward Together campaign is designed with flexibility in mind, and the projects can be completed in phases as resources allow. This approach allows us to prioritize key areas while ensuring each phase is fully funded before moving forward.

Phasing the work helps us be good stewards of the gifts entrusted to the campaign, while still making meaningful improvements that benefit our congregation and community throughout the process.

Upon the conclusion of the initial commitment phase of the Forward Together campaign, the campaign steering committee, along with input and guidance from the Session, will determine the order in which renovations are completed.

What happens if we do not raise the money?2026-04-27T20:00:37+00:00

While we trust that God will provide $7.5 million over the next two years, if we are unable to raise the money we will extend our timeline or scale down the project to fit our giving level.

What is the right amount to give?2026-04-29T18:52:35+00:00

2 Corinthians 9:6-7 says, “Whoever sows sparingly will reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” Everyone’s situation is different, but we are all called to give. God does not ask for equal gifts; he calls us to equal sacrifice. The right amount to give is the amount you prayerfully discern before the Lord, an offering that reflects gratitude for his generosity and trust in his provision. No matter what you currently give, the invitation in this season is to take a faithful step forward in your journey of generosity.

What if I’m not in a good place or position to give to Forward Together right now?2026-04-29T18:53:04+00:00

The reality is, there will never be a “better time” to begin the faith journey, or to take the next step in giving to the Lord, than right now. God calls us to action in times of hardship as much as he does in times of abundance. Forward Together is about a heart change – one that is only accomplished by surrendering our lives completely over to God in every area, including the area of giving. Believe God, walk in obedience, and trust him to provide as you sacrifice and work towards fulfilling your commitment.
